Bang Bang into the room!
How I managed to get my hands on this without any difficulties whatsoever is beyond me. I was literally just strolling through the Sephora website looking at various things when suddenly, this came about. I actually had no idea that it was Sephora’s launch date for this and that Pat’s own launch of this on her own website had caused major mayhem and had basically broken the internet! Wow! I am THE luckiest to have just blithely picked one up. And not only that, it was here, in my house, in Hastings,2 days later from NYC!
So, according to all sources, this is probably the most anticipated product this year. And it’s amazegogs!
Pat, what have you done? I’ll tell you what’s she’s done. She’s created the likes of what I have never seen before. I don’t even know what I was expecting.
All I know is that it came packaged in gold sequins. This is completely wonderful by the way. Absolute theatre. Everything transits safety and you become utterly hypnotised by the sheer goldness of them all,to the point you almost become one with them.
So first up. If you don’t know who Pat is, then please Google her. She’s basically the greatest make up artist since Kevyn Aucoin ( who holds a very special place in my heart and who is now with the angels). Pat is British, so I’m happy that she’s flying the flag for us.
Anyway, what did I get in the sequins packet?
So, firstly I’m going to talk about this double ended balm/hi-light stick.
At one end you have an amazing gold hi- lighter that you can unashamedly swipe straight on your face anywhere you like.
I’ve probably over-egged it on first application and I now look like that girl from Gold Finger. Who cares? It’s great and it blends like a dream.
I know this swatch looks very intense. Well that’s because it is. But you can sheer it out as much as you like and suddenly you just look like you’ve transcended to the heavens.
At the other end is the clear balm. Which I just love! This has a multitude of uses. Eyebrow grooming. Lip gloss. Cheek gloss. You name it, it can probably do it.
I think this stick is the winner for me. I can see myself using this every day. It’s so useful!
The Powder is possibly the most illuminating product I’ve ever come across. It is like some sort of Supernova in a pot. Coat yourself in this an you can’t fail to have a good night.
I will probably use this more as an eyeshadow. I have blue eyes and this really makes them pop. Another good way to use this for cheeks is to swipe the cool Japanese brush across the clear balm and then pick up the Powder on top of it before swiping it across the cheekbones. This, I think is the most effective way to apply this. If you have a tan then this truly is going to look awesome!
I think the brush is an excellent design. It’s exactly the right size to sweep across both ends of the stick. In fact all three products marry together so well, you can’t really go wrong. I’m so very glad I bought this set. It’s been cleverly thought out. And I really think it is value for money. I know there’s a pink nude set that is probably better for the fairer skinned people but I really like the Gold because I just love the drama of it all.
Thanks Pat. I’m hoping I’ll be seen from the Space Station.
